Combat robotics is a sport in which builders solder, cut, drill, hammer and screw robots together to fight against each other in a locked arena. Each robot (mostly) has a weapon, such as a wedge, bar spinner, beater bar, egg beater (not an egg beater but more like a rectangle of metal that spins upwards), flipper, hammer (swinging from overhead), flamethrower (sometimes) and almost anything that would destroy/damage another robot. Combat robots can be made in different weights. The most common ones being:
- Fairy weight (under 150 grams)
- Antweight (under 453 grams)
- Beetleweight (under 1.36 kilograms)
